| |
4 Things not to purchase with a credit card:
- Cars, Motorcycles, Boats, or other big ticket items – When you calculate your credit card interest into the price, and when you consider the fact that these big ticket items depreciate the moment you buy them, you will see that by purchasing a big ticket item on a credit card, you might eventually pay double, or even triple of the amount you owed to begin with.
- Computers – You could buy a new computer today, and tomorrow turn around have buy a new one with double the capacity, triple the features, and quadruple the functions. Computers are evolving so quickly that it is almost comical. If you plan on buying a new computer, try not to put the purchase on a credit card. You will save yourself hundreds of dollars in interest charges.
- Holiday gifts – The holidays are a time of giving, and a time of getting… in debt! It is often in our quest to express our love and friendship that we find ourselves overextending and spending more than we have budgeted. Don’t let this happen to you! Remember that your friends are your friends, and your family is your family – even if you give them homemade gifts. After all, you don’t want to be in a situation where you are trying to purchase next years gifts, while still making interest payments to this years!
- Bills – If you find yourself in a situation where you have to use your credit card to pay any of your other bills you are already in financial trouble. This is just the beginning of a vicious cycle of becoming even deeper debt.
